On the night of November 21, Mayella Ewell was supposedly raped and beaten by a large black man, according to our sources, who was also on the property several times before the incident. Only after this, did Mayella's father, Bob Ewell, came to her rescue, scaring off the offender, and gave immediate care to his daughter. This is in large relation to the Scottsboro Trials, where multiple black men were accused of raping two white women. Those men were convicted and sentenced to death.
